The Center is proud to have its own ambulatory surgery center (ASC), dedicated solely to our patients’ infertility testing and procedures.  Our ASC is licensed by the Division of Health Care Facilities of the Tennessee Department of Health, making it subject to stringest regulatory requirements and to yearly inspections by the Division.  The end result is the highest quality patient care possible.

The ASC opened in 2001 and was developed with the purpose of providing infertile couples with a private, confidential, and medically sound setting for minor surgical procedures required during testing and treatment for infertility.  These minor surgical procedures include, among others, ultrasound-guided oocyte retrievals and embryo transfers.

The physical design of the ASC optimizes fertilization rates in our IVF program.  The procedure rooms are located adjacent to our CAP-accredited sterile in vitro fertilization embryology laboratory.  Immediately upon retrieval, oocytes are passed through a special door directly into the Embryology Lab, never having left the highly controlled environment.  The oocytes are then isolated and placed into culture media in the laboratory where they are fertilized and maintained under strictly controlled conditions until the time of the embryo transfer.  At that time the embryos are passed back into the procedure room for an embryo transfer in the patient.

ASC Provides a Streamlined Experience

Efficient.  Private.  Cost Effective.  CRH has streamlined their procedures to make sure your care is bound with your wishes and privacy.  The streamlining also makes the whole process more cost effective so that your dreams are even closer to reality.

The ASC has been developed with the purpose of providing infertile couples with a private, confidential, and medically sound setting for many minor surgical procedures required during either testing or therapy for infertility. These minor surgical procedures include, among others, ultrasound-guided oocyte retrievals and embryo transfers. Especially for patients from out of the Nashville area, it is not efficient or even feasible to schedule surgery at a local hospital.

We have found it to be much more efficient, more private, more confidential and more cost effective to perform these procedures on site within our own ASC.  This approach allows us to decrease costs to patients and / or Insurance companies and increase quality assurance and outcome (defined as live birth per initiated treatment).  Besides being less expensive for patients and payers and increasing outcome as documented by live birth per initiated treatment, our ASC provides our couples with a private environment where their privacy is strictly protected.

Infertility patients coming to the ASC will have a variety of different procedures including:
